A win for some people in the bottom of the South Island - with power back on for some left in the dark for more than 10 days

A win for some people in the bottom of the South Island - with power back on for some left in the dark for more than 10 days

It's nearly two weeks since wild winds cut power to more than 25 thousand homes.

PowerNet's halved the number of customers in Clutha without electricity to 205.

The number of cut-off customers has also been reduced by half in Southland, leaving about 115 homes still to be reconnected.

Clutha and Southland's States of Emergency continue.
