A Tokoroa school has been ordered to pay a hundred-thousand dollars after a teacher and student fell from scaffolding

A Tokoroa school has been ordered to pay a hundred-thousand dollars after a teacher and student fell from scaffolding

The pair were knocked unconscious, suffering serious lacerations, fractures, and brain injuries when a nearly four-metre high scaffolding tipped in June last year.

WorkSafe says Forest View High School had no procedures for working from heights, or for student involvement in using scaffolding.

The order will also require the Board of Trustees to make a presentation on safety at the School Trustees Association conference next year.
