    A man's in a critical condition after crashing into a tree while being monitored by Northland police .... after an incident at a Paihia bank


    Officers maintain there was no pursuit leading to the crash about 11.45am on State Highway One towards Moerewa.

    The highway is closed between Kawakawa and Pakaraka, and motorists are asked to avoid the area.
