Tom Walsh believes it was only a matter of time before the indoor shotput world record was broken

Tom Walsh believes it was only a matter of time before the indoor shotput world record was broken

American Ryan Crouser is the new record holder after throwing 22.82 metres, bettering the previous mark by 16 centimetres.

Walsh's indoor best is 22.31 metres.

He's says he's been waiting for the record to be broken and believes Crouser had an advantage of doing so because he gets more practice.

Walsh will compete in the Cook's Classic held in Wanganui tonight.
