A search for a missing rafter in the West Coast is in its third day

The man fell into the Ahaura River, inland from Greymouth, about midday Sunday.

He was among a private group of four travelling on two rafts -- but because of a lack of coverage, wasn't reported missing until about 5.30pm.

Three jet boats, the police dive squad, and local volunteers are scouring the area.
