    One person has died and several others are injured, after a serious crash, south of Kaitaia


    Emergency services were called to the crash at the intersection of State Highway 1 and Kitchen Road about 9.15 last night.

    One person taken to Kaitaia Hospital has since died.

    Four others were also injured -- with one person sustaining serious injuries.

    Police are continuing to investigate the crash.
