This year's Rhythm and Vines has fallen victim to the Traffic Light system

This year's Rhythm and Vines has fallen victim to the Traffic Light system

The organisers of the annual New Year's festival at Gisborne's Waiohika Estate have postponed until Easter Weekend 2022.

Refunds will be offered to ticket-holders who can't make the new date from April 15 to 17.

Gisborne will enter the traffic light system in the Red zone at midnight - which only allows gatherings of 100 vaccinated people.

Rhythm and Vines draws crowds of more than 20-thousand festival goers.

Director Keiran Spillane says they won't be stung by Easter liquor rules.

He says they operate under a special license - and have had confirmation it won't be a problem.
