    Police are still on the hunt for the origin of threats which shut down several North Island schools yesterday


    Matamata Intermediate and Firth Primary School were put into lockdown, while Matamata College and Thames High School were evacuated and searched by Police.

    Students at Cambridge High School were also evacuated to the school field, with students being sent home.

    Police say they believe there is no specific threat, but their investigations are continuing.

    The Ministry of Education says its in contact with all the schools and will be providing support.
