The Ironman World Championships get underway next weekend in Hawaii, with Currie eyeing up his maiden world title.
The 36-year-old Wanaka local placed third at the last World Champs in Utah... he's been in Maui for a month to prepare himself for race day.
Other Kiwis racing are Kyle Smith, in the elite men's race, with Rebecca Clarke making her Ironman World Championship debut in the elite women.
