    One person's been taken to hospital after an electrical fire in the bathroom of a motel unit


    Emergency crews were called to Aachen Place Motel shortly before midnight.

    Greymouth fire chief Lee Swinburn says everyone in the second level motel units had to be evacuated, while the unit occupant was taken to hospital suffering smoke inhalation.

    He says an electrical fault with a bathroom appliance is probably to blame.
