The golden glow hasn't faded for Zoi Sadowski-Synnott as she reflects on a surreal 2022

New Zealand's first Winter Olympic gold medallist has been awarded the Lonsdale Cup at a ceremony in Wanaka this afternoon.

The Cup is given by the New Zealand Olympic Committee to the athlete or team that has made the most outstanding contribution to an Olympic or Commonwealth Sport.

Sadowski-Synnott says while she competes in an individual sport - it's a team effort.



Sadowski-Synnott's the first snow sports athlete to receive the Lonsdale Cup since it was first presented in 1961.
