Most of Aotearoa will have unhindered firework viewing conditions as the New Year's countdown looms

Most of Aotearoa will have unhindered firework viewing conditions as the New Year's countdown looms

MetService is forecasting plenty of sunshine to close out 2022, with hot temperatures and low wind for most areas of the country.

Things do look a little less settled at the top of both the North and South islands, which could have some cloud and the odd shower.

MetService Forecaster, John Law says all-in-all, it's not looking too bad.

He says Wairarapa, Hawke's Bay and Gisborne will be the least ideal spots for tonight's celebrations.
