A paedophile who exposed himself to a six-year-old, will serve his sentence in a home with two young girls

The South Islander with name suppression admitted at the Queenstown District Court to doing an indecent act.

He's serving two years' intensive supervision.

The ODT reports a pre-sentence report didn't support his living plans, but Judge Duncan Harvey says the girls' family are confident the man is safe around them.

He ruled it would be inappropriate to send the man to prison, citing his background of suffering abuse - and rehabilitative work being undertaken.
