The nervous wait for MPs on the cusp of losing their place in Parliament is almost over

The nervous wait for MPs on the cusp of losing their place in Parliament is almost over

The much anticipated special votes will be unveiled at 2pm -- revealing the final 2023 election count.

Former Minister Phil Twyford will be watching today's results with great interest -- given he's just 30 votes behind National's Angee Nicholas in Te Atatu.

And there's fewer than 80 votes between the top-two in both Nelson and Banks Peninsula.

But all eyes will be on Labour stronghold Mt Albert - the party's Helen White has a 106 vote lead on National's Melissa Lee.

Te Tai Tokerau's also a tight race, with Labour's deputy leader Kelvin Davis leading by just 487 votes over Te Pati Maori's Mariameno Kapa-Kingi
