Suzie Bates' milestone party has been gatecrashed in Dunedin

Suzie Bates' milestone party has been gatecrashed in Dunedin

The White Ferns have suffered a first T20-series cricket defeat to Pakistan.

The game started with a guard-of-honour for Bates, who recently brought up 300 international appearances and had University Oval named after her for the day.

The hosts have endured a 10-run loss to back-up a seven-wicket defeat - they had not fallen to Pakistan in eight previous T20s before Sunday.

The visitors posted 137 for six - Bates made 18 from as many balls as part of New Zealand's reply.

Coach Ben Sawyer has tried to explain their demise.
