    A successful title defence at the Ironman 70.3 race in Taupo for New Zealand's Kyle Smith


    The 2019 champion has held on to cross the line 49 seconds ahead of countryman Jack Moody.

    Moody pipped Australian Kurt McDonald for third - with two-time winner Braden Currie more than two minutes back in fourth.

    Kiwi Hannah Berry has won the women's race by more than five minutes.
