    Three people are appearing in the Gisborne District Court today in relation to the fatal shooting of a 39-year-old man at a Hutt Valley birthday party


    Rawiri Zane Wharerau was killed at a family member's 50th birthday party in Stokes Valley on the early hours of Saturday, December 16.

    His brother was also shot, and sent to hospital with critical injuries.

    A 33-year-old man and 22-year-old woman face charges of murder and attempted murder in Gisborne District Court.

    And a 53 year old woman is charged with being an accessory after the fact.
