The second man arrested after a fatal brawl in Gisborne has had his charge upgraded from assault - to wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm

The large fight on Saturday night left two people dead and three in hospital.

A 25-year-old Gisborne man discharged from hospital yesterday has now been charged in relation to injuries sustained by a victim still in hospital.

He's jointly charged with a 29-year-old man taken into custody earlier this week.
