    A sigh of relief in Southland - after confirmation the Tiwai Point Smelter's future is secure for the next 20 years


    Meridian, Mercury, Contact Energy and New Zealand Aluminium Smelters have signed after 18 months of negotiations.

    Invercargill Mayor Nobby Clark says the smelter is a significant contributor towards GDP.
