Work on a permanent upgrade to Queenstown's water treatment facility begins today

A temporary UV water treatment solution was installed at the Two Mile water-intake facility last year, after an outbreak of cryptosporidium.
The facility supplies water to Queenstown, Fernhill and Sunshine Bay.
Queenstown Lakes District Council's Tony Avery says they will be able to redeploy the temporary solution elsewhere in the district, once the upgrade's completed.
He says the work is expected to take six months.
