The coroner's inquest into the death of young Gloriavale man, Sincere Standtrue, is resuming today
12 August 2024
The second and final phase runs for 10 days in the Greymouth District Court.
The coroner will be trying to determine whether Standtrue took his own life or died accidentally in November 2018, after being found critically injured in the paint shop he worked in.
The 20-year-old was deaf and suffered other physical and intellectual challenges.
The coroner has previously heard evidence from Standtrue's younger sister, who claimed he was bullied, mocked, belittled, and beaten most of his life.
