    A reopening date's being targeted for the crucial footbridge at Auckland's Wynyard Quarter


    The bridge connecting the area with the Viaduct, saves a 20-minute walk, and has been closed since March for repairs.

    Auckland Council's property management arm Eke Panuku's hoping to reopen it this Friday.

    It says initially it'll open between 7.30am and 11.30pm, to test how it operates in live conditions.

    More than 140-thousand people have jumped on board the ferry that's been running as the bridge's alternative.
