Hospitality businesses in Queenstown have had a standout performance in the third quarter compared to other parts of the country

Hospitality businesses in Queenstown have had a standout performance in the third quarter compared to other parts of the country

The Restaurant Association is reporting the region saw 8.6-percent growth year-on-year and 23-percent growth quarter-on-quarter.

Hospitality in Wellington, Auckland, and the smaller regions are facing negative growth year-on-year.

Restuarant Association Chief Executive Marisa Bidois says Queenstown is a unique case.

She says its growth is driven by stronger tourism turnouts, and recent events in the area.
