    A Coromandel man accused of murdering a pig hunter and attempting to murder another has been granted bail until his trial in 2027


    RNZ reports 77-year-old Stuart Edmondson appeared in the High Court at Hamilton yesterday to enter not guilty pleas to the charges.

    It says his lawyer Ron Mansfield KC confirmed Edmondson will be released on bail tomorrow.

    Kevin Mabbott died in the incident near Coromandel Town and another man was taken to hospital in a serious condition.

    A trial date's been set for May 2027.
