    A 17-year-old is set to appear in the Hamilton Youth Court following two aggravated robberies around the Hauraki Plains


    Four people armed with a machete, a metal pole and a crowbar assaulted an employee and took cash and cigarettes from premises on Tararu Road, north of Thames on Friday morning.

    Four people threatened an employee and took cigarettes, tobacco, and vapes from a premises on Kerepehi Town Road, south of Thames yesterday.

    The 17-year-old was arrested during a search warrant in Thames yesterday - a 20-year-old man was also arrested on unrelated warrants.

    Police continue to investigate the robberies.
