Defending champion Barbora Krejcikova has advanced to the second round at Wimbledon in three sets over Alexandra Eala

She's returned to her happy place at SW19.

A less happy place for third seed Jessica Pegula.

She has been ousted by unheralded Elisabetta Cocciaretto in straight sets, her first opening round grand slam defeat since the 2020 French Open.

In the men's draw, top seed Jannik Sinner won in straight sets as he bids for a maiden title.

Novak Djokovic is one set to love up against Alexandre Muller.
