A fully loaded semi-automatic firearm's been seized from a cupboard in South Auckland's Manukau

A fully loaded semi-automatic firearm's been seized from a cupboard in South Auckland's Manukau

Police say a vehicle fled officers on Puhinui Road before six last night.

It was tracked by helicopter to Redoubt Road, and the Police Dog Unit followed a suspect to a room beneath a house.

Inspector Mohammed Atiq says a loaded AK-47 style gun was found in a cupboard, and shotgun parts.

A 27-year-old man and 26-year-old woman will appear in Manukau District Court today on charges including unlawful possession of a prohibited firearm.
