Luna Rossa skipper Jimmy Spithill is putting the past behind him ahead of the start of the Louis Vuitton Cup semi-finals in Barcelona tomorrow morning

Luna Rossa skipper Jimmy Spithill is putting the past behind him ahead of the start of the Louis Vuitton Cup semi-finals in Barcelona tomorrow morning

The Italian syndicate will face American Magic in the final four, after Ineos Britannia - the top-ranked boat after the round-robins - elected to race Alinghi Red Bull Racing.

A boat issue prevented Luna Rossa from competing in the last round-robin race against Alinghi - putting an end to their hopes of the top seed.

Spithill fired back when asked what the issue was.

The winner of the challenger series will take on Team New Zealand for the America's Cup next month.
