    Joyce Talbot has been appointed a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit in recognition of her services to sailing administration


    The Aucklander has spent more than 30 years in yachting administration, with the Classic Yacht Association, the New Zealand Multihull Yacht Club, Coastal Classic and also with the Auckland Anniversary Regatta.

    She's surprised, and humbled to receive the honour.

    Talbot says she sees her honour as recognition of the work of the whole yachting fraternity.
