The Nelson community is reflecting on the life of a policewoman

The Nelson community is reflecting on the life of a policewoman

Senior Sergeant Lyn Fleming died after a vehicle drove into her and another officer, early on New Year's day.

The accused has interim name suppression, and is facing numerous charges including murder and attempted murder.

A vigil was held on Friday night and there'll be a moment of silence at a Nelson Cathedral service today.

Reverend Steve Jordan says he's been talking with the Mayor and local MP, about how they can help Nelson.

He says they want to be a part of the healing of the community.
