Police aren't taking further action on a Canterbury University rower allegedly throwing and killing a crayfish, at a Christchurch restaurant, on Friday night

Police aren't taking further action on a Canterbury University rower allegedly throwing and killing a crayfish, at a Christchurch restaurant, on Friday night

Video taken at Riccarton's Madam Kwong's BYO restaurant - shows a man grabbing the creature from a large tank, and hurling it into the carpark.

The Rowing Club says the behaviour at a club event - does not reflect its values - and it sincerely apologises.

Police say they've spoke to those involved and the crayfish has been paid for.
