Half a million dollars of assets relating to over five years worth of drug offending, will be utilised for Taranaki's fight against meth harm

In November 2022, Marlon John Bird was sentenced to five years and three months in prison on drug manufacturing and supply convictions following investigations dating back to 2019.

Last week, a forfeiture order was issued for 680-thousand-dollars worth of assets seized by police, including a New Plymouth property and over 100-thousand in cash.

Sergeant Sam Buckley says proceeds will be used for Taranaki based harm reduction projects.
