Detectives are investigating a suspicious house fire in Whangarei

Detectives are investigating a suspicious house fire in Whangarei

Police were called to home on Raumanga Valley Road just after 6am.

Five people were asleep at the time and were safely evacuated.

Detective Senior Sergeant Pilmer says it appears a couch on the front deck was deliberately lit.

Police would like to hear from anyone who has information.
