    Metservice has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Waitaki and Dunedin City


    It says its radar detected severe thunderstorms near Palmerston, Waikouaiti and Moeraki which are moving towards the east and are expected to lie near offshore Oamaru around 9.07pm.

    The storms are expected to come with very heavy rain and large hail which brings a risk of surface and or flash flooding.
