A 28-year-old Porirua man has appeared in court after an aggravated home invasion in Wellington's Miramar last week

A 28-year-old Porirua man has appeared in court after an aggravated home invasion in Wellington's Miramar last week

A resident fought off a knife-wielding man who broke into his family home early in the morning, receiving injuries.

Police are still searching for answers - after finding a man with head injuries on nearby roadside 20 minutes later - who later died.

The accused didn't enter pleas at the Wellington District Court this morning.

He has name suppression and will stay in custody before reappearing next month.
