A family is desperate to find their teenage girl - who went missing in Auckland four days ago

Police say 17-year-old Whetu Bennett was last seen at the LynnMall Shopping Centre about midday Wednesday.

A social media post from a family member says the teen was wearing a black dress, beige top, and sunglasses when last seen.

They say she isn't from Auckland and doesn't know anyone there.

Another family member has told our newsroom her boyfriend left Whetu at the mall, returning home without her.
