The Bay of Plenty Volcanix have won their local derby in the women's Farah Palmer Cup, thrashing the visiting Hawke's Bay Tui 62-17

That was the battle of the bottom with the Volcanix taking their first victory, while keeping the Tui winless ... and pointless.

    The hosts, however, remain second-last.

The men's Battle of the Bay is moments away, also at the Tauranga Domain ... it's a crunch clash with the hosts, the Steamers, sitting fourth on the NPC standings, while the Magpies are fifth.

There's another key match-up in the FPC too, with second-placed Waikato hosting the top-of-the-table Manawatu Cyclones at Memorial Park in Cambridge.
