A jury's been told murder accused Hakyung Lee's claiming numerous memory lapses of key details surrounding her children's deaths

A jury's been told murder accused Hakyung Lee's claiming numerous memory lapses of key details surrounding her children's deaths

Lee's on trial at the High Court at Auckland charged with her children's 2018 murder, but has raised an insanity defence.

Crown witness and forensic psychiatrist Dr Marcos Monasterio's evidence calls into question another expert's belief Lee had a disease of the mind.

He says Lee claimed not to remember the date her children died, the date she was charged, or telling police she didn't kill her children but knows who did.

Monasterio says Lee also said she had no memory of telling her mother she had no children in 2022, and can't explain why she denied having them.
