The apple hasn't fallen far from the tee in the McIlroy household

The apple hasn't fallen far from the tee in the McIlroy household

As you heard there, Rory McIlroy's four-year-old daughter Poppy has sunk a precipitous 30-foot downhill putt on the ninth hole of the annual par-3 contest at Augusta on Masters eve.

Nico Echavarria has won this year's event in a play-off with JJ Spaun, after both carded five-under par 22s in regulation.

If history is a guide, the Colombian's chances of winning the overall Masters this year are now cursed.

No player has won both in the same year since the abridged competition's introduction in 1960.
