Coach Graham Hill believes Erika Fairweather has the potential to close the gap on the world's best swimmers - Katie Ledecky and Summer Mackintosh

Coach Graham Hill believes Erika Fairweather has the potential to close the gap on the world's best swimmers - Katie Ledecky and Summer Mackintosh

The 21-year-old Kiwi will battle them in the 400 metres freestyle today at the World Aquatics Championships in Singapore.

She's also in the 200 and 800 metres freestyle.

Hill says the world standard has jumped, but they can close in by the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.

The heats are from 2pm with the final at 11.
