Gael Monfils has become the oldest winner on the ATP Tour - with victory in the ASB Classic for the first time

The Frenchman has overcome Belgian Zizou Bergs in the final in straight sets.

Monfils broke Bergs' serve early in both sets to allow him to dictate terms.

He says he had to dig deep to win the crown.
