Doubles specialist Erin Routliffe is gutted she won't be fit for her home tennis tournament

Doubles specialist Erin Routliffe is gutted she won't be fit for her home tennis tournament

The Kiwi Grand Slam doubles champion and partner Gabby Dabrowski were forced to withdraw from Auckland's ASB Classic as Routliffe recovers from a rib injury suffered in November.

Despite using her off-season to recover, the world doubles number one wasn't able to bounce back in time.

Technology is giving the ASB Classic a new look.

Due to a new requirement on the ATP men's tour, the Auckland line-umpires will be replaced with cameras that will call whether a shot is in or out.

Tournament director Nicolas Lamperin says installing the on-court technology for both the men's and women's tournaments cost roughly 150 thousand U.S. Dollars.
