    Two sawn-off rifles are off the streets - after arrests in Papakura


    A vehicle wanted after a spate of burglaries was spotted and pursued on Great South road on Friday.

    It pulled over on South Street and the driver and a passenger were caught trying to run into a property - with one carrying a bag containing a rifle and a loaded magazine.

    Police searched the property and found another rifle and magazine, and a substantial amount of cannabis.

    A 33-year-old man and 30-year-old woman are appearing in Manukau District Court today, and a 21-year-old woman and an 18-year-old man also face charges.
