Nearly ten-thousand have signed a petition calling for mandatory police body cams

Nearly ten-thousand have signed a petition calling for mandatory police body cams

The petition's been launched after the death of Faasala Samu Matue a week ago at Auckland's Orere Point.

The 45 year-old los consciousness after being tasered and pepper-sprayed when he threatened police and bit an officer.

Auckland Community leader David Letele says he began the petition because change is overdue.

He says it's not about bashing Police, but the way our society's going there'll be more incidents like this.
