    The Auckland Aces are chasing 188 to beat the Wellington Firebirds, in today's men's Super Smash T20 cricket match at the Basin Reserve


    Wellington made 187 for seven, batting first, setting their Auckland visitors a target of 9.35 runs an over for victory.

    A short time ago, the Aces were 56 for one after five overs ... scoring at just over 11 an over.

    Earlier, the Wellington Blaze women posted a second straight win, thrashing the visiting Auckland Hearts by 49 runs ... thanks to a superb unbeaten century from opener Amelia Kerr.
