Belief Health New Zealand's doing a lot to ensure Christchurch Hospital staff's safety getting to their cars, after late night shifts

A Kurawaka: Waipapa birthing unit staffer was seriously assaulted after work.

Health New Zealand's added security as an extra layer of protection.

Rachel, who works at Christchurch Hospital, says measures are already in place.

She says that includes people accompanying staff to cars, and a shuttle bus to the hospital's Deans Ave carpark.

She says no one's expected to walk through a dark Hagley Park in the middle of the night.
