A jury's heard chilling new details of a North Canterbury man's final moments, in the trial of the man accused of shooting him

Parts of Richard Leman's body were found in a car at an abandoned property on Rangiora's Tyler Street in 2023.

Police allege Michael Scott Rodger shot Leman, then decapitated him after smoking methamphetamine.

Friend Sara Plimmer told the court Rodger arrived at a property intending to kill him.

She says he appeared evil and demonic afterward, and told her he had always hated Leman.

The trial continues today.
