More Severe Thunderstorm warnings as parts of the country are battered by heavy rain

MetService is now warning of torrential rain and hail in the Horowhenua area near Levin and towards Southern Wairarapa.

A severe thunderstorm warning is still in place in Canterbury in the area surrounding Geraldine.

The warning for South Waikato has now been lifted.
