    Two men are due to appear in court following a firearms incident in Christchurch overnight


    Police were called to a group of people allegedly holding a firearm and making threats from a vehicle in Shirley just before 1.30 this morning.

    Officers found the alleged offenders at a property on Marshland Road.

    A 32-year-old will appear in Christchurch District Court tomorrow, facing multiple charges including unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition.

    While a 28-year-old will appear later this month charged with obstructing police.
