Christchurch Police believe youths are responsible for a 90 minute crime spree in the garden city early yesterday

They say multiple businesses, across six suburbs including Halswell, Ilam and Waltham, were ram raided between the hours of 4 and 5.30am.

The alleged offenders used a number of stolen vehicles to unlawfully gain entry to the premises.

It is believed a number of items were taken from multiple locations - including food, like potato chips and brownies.

Police say the youths fled in the stolen vehicles and intentionally drove dangerously, allegedly knowing Police will not pursue them due to the risk.
